Round 14: North Carolina

Post by ChrisEagor on Fri Jul 01, 2016 2:47 pm

We are heading to Rockingham, North Carolina--The Rock--with five races to go including this one. Sandfer is now following the thread where every big lead diminishes in two or three races. He has a 9-point gap over Bryant and a 27-point gap over Kirby. After Rockingham, the ultimate test will begin.

Rockingham was held earlier this year in IES. With no cautions, the race only had 9 lap cars. The Junior Series will probably be different, because some don't have the experience like the IES drivers do, and a caution could happen here. Tire wear is a pain as tires last almost 60-65 laps. Pit stops will happen, but they will pit around halfway.

Rookie Bernard Strauss for the life of me took the pole over recent winner Nathan Dwyer. The front row is the "The Strange Row." Christopher Bryant is in 20th, Henry Sandfer is in 22nd, and Alissa Kirby is in 26th. All the championship contenders are bunched up. Let's see if they can get a good run out of The Rock.

Race will probably go up before the Fourth of July.
