Round 24: Alabama

Post by ThundertheDragon on Thu Jul 21, 2016 2:06 pm

Well, here we are. It's time for the penultimate round of the season at the infamous Talladega Superspeedway. This track is a major wild card, so it's difficult to predict how it's gonna turn out. Cosmic Nova leads the championship by 17 points, but he might not do well here, as Nova does not have a good record at this track.

In the aftermath of the Decatur race, Daniel Voyles has been slapped with a 20 point penalty for his antics.

Anyway, here's how the championship situation stacks up.

1 C Nova, ldr
2 S Angel, -17
3 D Kurtis, -22
4 C Atwood, -28

5 M Chan, -41
6 C Sandfer, -83
7 R Smith, -86

8 N Pericles, -109
9 W Duncan, -111
10 J Davis, -111
11 T Thaber, -118
12 J Shelly, -127

So, what will the final playing field look like? Well, there's only one way to find out.

Smith:" The Run I Needed came to me today, Glad I could close in much more. Although it would have been better with a win, I didn't want to risk anything so I just drafted with Finguy till the Laps Ran out."

Louviere: "That was a disaster. If the car handles like that, Nova's championship hopes are done. He didn't even get involved with anything, and the cautions didn't help him either."
